How should you handle open houses?

By Glenn Wegner, Lone Star Realty, Keller, TX Last reviewed: October 6, 2026

Open houses can add exposure, but they're one tool among many, and we'll decide together whether one makes sense for your home. Safety matters. I set up a sign-in table that sends visitors to sign in before they walk the house, which helps deter bad actors. Before an open house, put away valuables, medications, and personal papers, and keep pets and family away. I'll be there to host and watch the home.
